My name is Tim Huggins. I have been part of First Baptist Jensen Beach for about 25 years. I've been working in Debauche Haiti for about 10 years. My family and I fell in love with Debauche the first time we arrived on campus and met the people. My first trip was with Pastor Steven. I went reluctantly. I felt better use of my resources was to just send money. Through prayer and encouragement from Pastor Steven and my family. I made my first trip to Debauche. I have been in love with the people in Haiti from my first trip.
I would encourage you to join us and support our work at the church and school in Debauche Haiti. Whatever skill set you possess; God can use you on one of our mission trips.
For over 16 years, I have dedicated my life to serving the people of the Central Plateau region in Haiti, driven by a profound commitment to demonstrate God's great love. My journey has been one of walking alongside many of the forgotten, isolated, and left behind by society, striving to bring hope and transformation to their lives.
My service has encompassed a wide range of ministries, including:
- Prison Ministry: Bringing spiritual support and hope to those incarcerated, helping them find redemption and a new path in life.
- Community Outreach: Engaging with local communities to address their needs, foster development, and build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods.
- Orphanages: Providing care, love, and support to orphaned children, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
- Church Plants: Establishing new churches to spread the gospel and create vibrant faith communities.
- Medical Clinics: Offering medical care and health education to underserved populations, improving their overall well-being.
- Evangelistic Movements: Leading efforts to share the message of Christ and inspire faith in the hearts of many.
Through these diverse ministries, I have witnessed the transformative power of faith and community, and I remain committed to continuing this vital work. My mission is to embody and share God's love, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Steven is the worship pastor at Shades Mountain Community Church in Birmingham, Alabama. My wonderful wife Stephanie and I have two children, Ava and Sam. We are from the Birmingham area, but spent four years in Florida where I served as the worship pastor at First Baptist Jensen Beach. During our time there, I was able to be part of the Debauche, Haiti mission, developed a great love and care for the people there, and have been involved since. We desire to spend our lives to serve the Lord and His church both at home and in Haiti.
Clark is the founder of the Debauche Church and School in 2000. His great heart for the children and families that reside there started a fire in the hearts of the members of First Baptist Jensen Beach that cannot be extinguished.
“One day as I was exploring old buildings that had been an old bread factory in a village called Debauche I was approached by a group of people from this village. With my interpreter we struck up a conversaƟon about The Lord and I shared the fact that the local Voodoo priest had no control over God’s people. As I was explaining how opening their hearts to the Lord and confessing their sins was all that they needed to do to become children of God, one of the women asked why God did not send anyone up to them in the mountains to start a church? My answer came so fast it could only have come from God. I said He has sent someone now; and the mission was started.”
